US Soccer / US Club Mandate
Age Group Changes
Aventura Premier FC Is Moving to a Seasonal-Year Age Group Structure for 2026–27
Starting with the 2026–27 season, a US Soccer mandate introduces a seasonal-year model for forming age groups. The change brings us in line with the structure already used across much of the U.S. Soccer landscape — including ECNL, N1, and other US Club Soccer platforms.
The Details
What's Changing
- New formation window: August 1 to July 31, so registration and roster building line up with the school calendar
- Nothing changes for 2025–26: the current season stays on the Birth Year model (January 1 – December 31)
- How we transition: 2026–27 rosters start taking shape during each age group's scheduled tryouts
The Reasoning
Why This Change
- Lines up more closely with the school calendars most families already follow
- Brings registration, competition timing, and development pathways into a single consistent rhythm
- Cuts down on scheduling conflicts and gives families a clearer, more predictable season
- Keeps us aligned with the wider shift taking place across U.S. youth soccer
"Transitioning to a seasonal-year structure is an exciting step toward putting players and families first. It creates a more consistent, predictable rhythm that better aligns with school schedules and reduces unnecessary conflicts. Most importantly, it allows us to focus on what matters most – long-term player development, enjoyment of the game, and a positive experience for everyone involved."
